The Magic Hand

Writer: jjacquirjjacquir

The magic hat was so magic that it fit every head - no matter how big, no matter how small. The magic hat could cover even elephant's ears ... and reach down to the end of the elephant's trunk as well. In fact, the magic hat came in very handy all around the house and garden. The magic hat was so magic that it could be used as a shopping bag - if you looked hard inside, you could see a pound of potatoes and two pounds of apples at the bottom. The magic hat could even be used as a satellite dish and send radar messages to aliens in outer space. If it accidentally landed on top of a chimney pot, then it received television signals from the BBC. The magic hat was so magic that it could fly around the world and back again. So magic that when it span, it made all the other planets in the universe spin, too. It just about fit the moon. Back down to Earth with a ump, the magic hat could be used as a bird bath ... full of sparrows and chaffinches all splashing about. In winter, the magic hat was woolly, in summer, it was light and airy. It could be used as an umbrella in the rain and a great place to shelter from the wind in stormy weather. The magic hat was such a magic hat that it never needed stitching because there were never any holes in it ... so magic, in fact, that it changed colour depending on what shirt you were wearing at the time. The magic hat quickly matched your tie. It was stripy one minutes, spotty the next, changing between red, blue, yellow and green. It was so magic that if you lost it - it found it's own way home again - without a map. So magic that it could sail and be used as a boat ... even in the most choppy waters ... and it was so magic that it didn't shrink in the wash as well. Magic.
