The Magic Flower Pot & The Magic Honey Bee

Writer: jjacquirjjacquir

Although it looked quite ordinary to passers - by, there was once a flower pot, that really was quite magic. One Spring day, sometime during the middle of May, a rain drop fell on the flower pot ... and frightened the spiders away. A bird flew overhead, holding a seed in it's beak ... when a gust of wind, blew his wings, and he gave out an incredible "Eek !". Out popped the seed into the middle of a pile of weeds, and landed with a "PLOP !" ... and soon the flower pot became magic, indeed. Very soon, when the Sun shone bright, a flower grew and grew ... after a day or two, it had reached the chimney pot, it grew so much that the gardener didn't quite know what to do. The flower was the prettiest that the garden had ever seen ... it's scent was the sweetest and the leaves were the most green. Along flew a butterfly, it's wings glistening in the breeze. He landed on the flower and the pollen made him sneeze. The butterfly hadn't noticed much, but his wings were dusty from the road ... but after a stop on the flower pot ... "He looked prettier than ever", said the toad. The petals fluttered, the bumble bee stuttered ... which made the pot even more magic. The magic pot made the bumble bees dreams come true ... he wished for some honey (at least enough for a sandwich) and very soon there were two. Inside the magic flower pot, daffodils, daisies and dandelions grew and grew ... and although sometimes, there were rain clouds overhead, the magic flower pot made the sky clear blue. The magic flower pot was so magic that not even bad weather or the ice ... could stop the flower pot from shining and the scent from smelling quite nice. It was of course, the flower pot's magic, that brought Summer back again, made the garden grew and the Sun glow ... after a Winter of snow. On one of the leaves of the magic flower pot, a caterpillar crawled along. You could sometimes hear the tapping of his hundred feet, as he was singing a caterpillary song. The caterpillar was so hungry he grumbled ... but thanks to the tasty leaves from the magic flower pot, very soon, his belly no longer rumbled. A worm came across the lawn and made the flower pot, by the garden gnome, his home. Although he thought the pot a good place to hide, he didn't much like the mud inside, and he wished for a bit of Sun ... and very soon, inside the pot, the Sun came out and the cold weather was almost gone. The gardener with his clumsy boots and spade, almost knocked the flower pot over with a "CRASH !" ... but the cracks in the magic flower pot disappeared as quick as a lightening flash. The magic flower pot jumped back up, over the bird table and flower bed and landed by the rake on the shelf in the garden shed. By now, the magic flower pot was known both far and wide ... for the magic tricks that it could perform and the beautiful flowers that grew inside. By now the circus was drawing a crowd, who clapped quite loudly and cheered out loud. One of the frogs jumped the queue, the lizard sold tickets at the gate. Visitors queued for miles, worried they'd be too late. As the flower pot's magic started to unfold, the magic flower pot span around, rocked and even rolled. The crowd gasped in sheer delight ... as the magic flower pot flashed it's lights bright. The honey bees performed a fly pass over the chimney ... around the branches of the trees. But the crowd didn't appear to like them so much as they applauded the performing fleas. Soon, as darkness was drawing in, it was time for the circus to close ... but even in the darkness, moondust fell and the stars shone magic on the rose. Magic.
