The Christmas that Santa Arrived by Roller Skates at Kate's

Santa usually wore Wellington boots,

which fit rather nicely over his red and white suits....

Except one Christmas, about 1998,

Santa left them by the garden gate....

A naughty thief stole them and took away the sleigh,

Leaving Santa only slippers to wear on Christmas day...

Gerome the gnome had an idea, scratching his beard,

When he'd heard that the boots had disappeared !

Perhaps the Snowman's roller skates...

Would fit Santa being size eights ?

Santa tried them on - it was a bit of a squeeze,

All that huffing and puffing made him sneeze !

The gnomes gathered up ther presents in Santa's sack,

Tripped, slipped and zoomed, off along the track....

Around the bend, it seemed his journey would never end....

He broke the world record for the fastest ever parcel send....

Santa whizzed off, he couldn't stop...

Till three of Kate's presents off he did drop....

At Kate's door, he fell on the floor,

He didn't have any energy anymore !

Kate loved her gift (though the postman wasn't sure....

Especially when he saw the size eight roller skates that Santa wore !)
