The hungry housefly was feeling hearty,
So he threw a Birthday party…
As the weather had become much colder,
The fly had turned a whole year older…
As he blew out the candles on his cake,
A big bite of icing he did take…
He flapped his wings as housefly do,
Then took another chomp or two….
The sweet, sugary icing tasted so ice,
The hungry housefly took another slice..
From a plate of sandwiches, he took a bite,
But nothing could quell his appetite…
One cheese, one egg, one ham,
Brown bread, white bread, beef spread and spam…
The hungry housefly then played a game,
Pass the parcel and guess the teddy bear’s name…
He had a go at pin the tail on the donkey,
Then devoured some ice – cream – his favourite – chunky monkey !
Soon, he was swimming in strawberries and cream,
The housefly drank another soda stream…
As he skidded into the butter,
The music played, his wings did flutter…
The dragon fly and the bumble bee,
Sang “HAPPY BIRTHDAY !” to the housefly at three…
He opened a parcel wrapped up in paper,
His greed was bigger than a tall skyscraper…
He chewed on a ribbon and a bow,
Flew up high, then back down low…
He nibbled on the table and chairs,
Then tucked into a dozen eclairs !
He tried to fly off, but wasn’t that light,
Landed on a jelly and bounced off in flight !
