When the hungry housefly wants a snack for lunch.
Off to the vegetable patch, he goes to crunch…
He starts by nibbling on a carrot top,
Then onto a cabbage he doesn’t stop !
From a tomato, he takes a big bite,
A lettuce doesn’t satisfy his appetite…
The housefly pecks on a runner bean,
He’s the hungriest housefly that you’ve ever seen…
Onto the compost heap he does fly,
Zooms over the fence, three metres high !
An onion makes the housefly cry,
But after a sniffle on his hankie, he’s off into the sky !
After a perch on the spade for a slumber,
The housefly devours an entire cucumber !
A panful of peas, too many to number,
A parsnip, a turnip and a little bit of Zumba !
Narrowly missed by Farmer Giles’ welly,
The housefly grumbles….and rumbles his belly !
Gardener’s World is his favourite on telly,
He loves the vegetable patch, though it is smelly !
In the garden, the housefly chomps on the rake,
Tastier than an eight ounce rump steak….
He chews on a flower and every rosebud,
Devours hour after hour…. Wow ! they smell good…
On he munches a little bit more,
Eats up the rake leaning on the shed door !
The hungry housefly is a ravenous guy…
Sat in the vegetable patch with the butterfly !
