The hungry housefly loved his sport,

Rushing around, like every housefly ought…

At school, he was the quickest and fastest runner,

At one hundred miles an hour, he was quite a stunner !

He loved to run, and jump, and leap,

The hungry housefly climbed up mountains steep !

He flapped his wings, and exercised with hoola hoop rings,

He skipped with the housefly on the spider’s strings…

He lifted weights every day,

Playing rugby to get fit … that’s the way !

The egg and spoon race, was his favourite game,

But he liked the sack race almost the same…

As the whistle blew,

Across the finishing line he flew,

In first place, the hungry housefly had won the race !

Fifteen seconds, the stopwatch said,

The housefly turned and spinned on his head…

As every day through the air he flew,

The hungry housefly’s muscles grew…

He huffed and puffed with all his might,

But munching on bean bags meant he wasn’t so light…

His humungus bite and sports day appetite,

Meant he couldn’t quite take off in flight…

What to do ? Nobody knew,

So the horsefly brought a crane and a bulldozer too !
