The hungry housefly’s trip of a lifetime,
Was the Christmas when onto Santa’s sleigh he did climb…
He didn’t expect Santa to set off so quickly,
Or the sleigh to jet off quite so slickly…
Mrs Christmas suddenly gave a loud shout,
“There goes the hungry housefly, everybody watch out !”
The Christmas fairy cried out, “Off he goes !”,
As she spied the hungry housefly, resting on Rudolph’s rosy, red nose…
The hungry housefly helped Santa deliver the toys,
To all the world’s billions of girls and boys…
On his way to China, somewhere over Nice,
The hungry housefly nibbled on a piece of cheese…
It wasn’t long before the hungry housefly was chomping,
On one of the presents where Prancer was stomping….
His Christmas dinner was a mince pie
A thousand kilometres high in the sky…
As the sleigh wobbled because Santa was drunk,
The hungry housefly bit off another big chunk !
It was lucky that Rudolph knew the way, as Santa took a nap,
Because the hungry housefly chewed a hole right through the map….
The hungry housefly sailed right past Mars,
Heading off to Pluto, straight through the stars…
Then back again, he munched and crunched,
Flying over Spain, then to the grotto for lunch !
