The housefly on Santa’s grotto wall,
Watches the gnomes, he can see them all !
When Santa sings in the grotto choir,
The fly sits on the lamp, hour after hour !
When Mrs. Christmas soaks in the bath,
He floats on the bubbles, the lands on the tap !
When the gnomes make their toys,
The fly zooms overhead, making a buzzing noise !
When Santa throws a Christmas party,
Even the fly get drunk and rather naughty !
When Santa puts his stocking on the bed,
The housefly buzzes past overhead !
During the night, he sits on the light,
On the grotto ceiling, he’s high as a kite !
When Midnight comes, and the fly gets sleepy,
Around the grotto, the shadows are creepy !
In the morning, when Santa’s still yawning,
The grotto housefly is tossing and turning !
When Mrs. Christmas sweeps the kitchen floor,
Santa’s housefly heads straight out the door !
When Mrs. Christmas starts to bake,
Sweet aromas she starts to make !
But if Mrs Christmas burns the mince pies,
A cloud of smoke starts to rise in his eyes.
The housefly nibbles on Santa’s toast,
Right past Rudolph, he quickly does coast !
It’s Christmas pudding he likes the most,
As he waits on the rug for the Christmas post !
The housefly wipes his feet on a bun…. Sticky and sweet,
Christmas is so much fun !
