One of the hungry housefly’s favourite places,
Was a day out at Aintree races…
He met his fried the hungry horse fly by the litter bin,
And soon their chomping did begin…
A bowl of sweets, all kids of mixtures,
Then they went to bet on one of the fixtures…
The Grand National was being held at Aintree today,
So they put on a stake (ad had a steak on the way !)…
Soon, they were OFF ! SCOFF ! They couldn’t get enough of the stuff !
Beaches brook was quite a leap, The two of them fell into a heap…
As they watched Red Rum, they ate rum ‘n’ raisin ice – cream,
A championship win was every housefly’s dream !
Around the racecourse track and back,
The hungry flies munched up a stack !
They skid on the roof,
Narrowly missing a horse’s hoof…
They nibbled on Dettori’s saddle,
Drank water from a puddle where they went to paddle…
Oh ! This was good ! Rolling around in mud !
Tucking in on horse feed, that all the houseflies could….
When the race was done, they found out they’d won,
A thousand pounds at fifty to one !
