The hungry housefly’s favourite pit-stop,
Was stopping off at the bakery shop…
Through the window, he could spy,
A plate of cakes, three feet high…
He started off by rolling on a banoffee pie,
Then onto a Black Forest Gateau, what a happy hungry guy !
He loved to shop – he was quite a townie,
Especially on the days, he munched a chocolate brownie !
A butterfly cake, as may as he could take,
A chocolate slice, topped with a flake !
Coconut or coffee, didn’t matter what flavour,
The hungry house fly loved to savour…
A date square, a chocolate éclair,
He rolled off a bun, then ate a pair…
He loved a strawberry tart, from the bottom of his heart,
He crunched on one then decided to depart…
Some lemon drizzle, before his appetite fizzled,
He devilishly devoured a devil’s cake, starting in the middle…
Whenever he fancied a road route snack…
An Eccles and a Dundee cake, kept him on track,
A fondant fancy, on which to nibble,
A glass of lemonade, which to dribble…
A gingerbread went to his head,
So the hungry housefly ate a Jaffa cake instead…
He flew a bit nearer to the Madeira,
Blinked and his vision became much clearer…
It didn’t matter if there was a candle on top,
The hungry housefly’s munching didn’t stop…
Three fruit pies, bigger than his eyes,
Off the housefly headed into the skies…
The fastest cake in the world was the scone,
One gulp by the housefly and it was all gone !
