The hungry fruit fly had been flying around all day and was so hungry for a glass of tasty gooseberry wine. He'd been flying around the orchard all day ... and wanted to rest just about Midday. First, he stopped off on a bush ... as he landed, he almost made gooseberry crush. The fruit fly took an enormous bite, but it didn't do much to quench his thirsty appetite so he started chomping to his delight. Very soon, he was feeling quite drunk ... as in and out of juice he sunk. After a quick stop off on a cherry, the fruit fly was soon feeling really quite merry. Next he flew to a strawberry ... It wasn't long, of course, before his wings were wet with strawberry sherry. He met up with a greenfly for a swimming lunch and together the bunch joined were enjoying a dip in the tasty punch. They chatted to each other, in between a crunch. The fruitfly loved to have dinner out. Although he didn't like the pips and sometimes slipped, he did rather like taking the odd strawberry punch sip. This fruit salad was the best he'd ever had. He really quite liked gardening, when the weather wasn't that bad. The hungry fruit fly then stopped off on a tree and chatted with a spider, who had a mind to eat the fly himself for tea. A caterpillar crawled along and showed the fruit fly the apple that was his home. The fruit fly asked if he could have a taste, then devoured the whole lot, without leaving a drop of waste. As he popped from out of the core, the fruit fly started munching some more. Three apples promptly disappeared, as the fruit fly guzzled down tasty cider beer. When the fruit fly launched off, he hoped it wouldn't be long before his next fruity scoff. When it came to fruit, he couldn't get enough. The hungry fruit fly was, soon, so drunk that he couldn't fly straight ... The rest of the afternoon would have to wait, whilst the fruit fly rested his wings upon the orchard gate. Very soon, once the hungry fruit fly was done, more than half of the orchard had gone. He met with a worm, who said he'd had the same problem, too ... trying to find enough fruit for a stew.
