Turnip the Turtle's New Swimming Goggles

Turnip the Turtle couldn't see,

He'd dived in three feet in the muddy sea....

He landed in a pile of seaweed ...

From which his tail could not be freed....

A starfish who came swimming by,

Said some goggles might be a good idea to try...

Turnip tried a pair on for size ...

Now he could see - Oh ! What a surprise

Suddenly everything became quite clear

He could see a shark prowling near

An octopus thought he looked quite a sight

In fact it was the octopus who gave Turnip a fright !

A shoal of fish - a dozen or more ...

Surfboarded past miles per hour one hundred and four !

In his new goggles, Turnip was delighted....

Now he was no long so very short - sighted !

A mermaid asked him out to dinner...

He ate so many fish and chips ... he was a championship - winner !

Turnip the turtle splashed about,

Amidst the waves that crashed, no doubt !

Next he wanted a swimming ring...

Some flippers for slippers and diving !
