Turnip the Turtle's New Flippers

Being a turtle, on the sands, Turnip moved slow....

But he was much faster swimming in the waters below...

A natural dipper, he bought new flippers...

Which fit him as comfortably as furry new slippers

Turnip the Turtle was rather pleased at his new look....

He paraded on the sands and swam around just like a duck

Even the Mermaid known for her fabulous style,

Saw the Turtle passing by and gave a friendly smile

A thousand leagues beneath the sea

Turnip the Turtle dived happily...

The waves got stronger and Turnip swam longer...

In the distance Turnip spied a submarine

Also diving between the seaweed so green

Looking out of its periscope...

Was a fella and some other folk

Who invited Turnip in for a cokcoke.

Turnip the Turtle was absolutely delighted,

Seeing that now he was no longer so short - sighted !

With the periscope, now he could see,

Thousands of fish swimming under the sea....

And an old shipwreck which looked a speck....

Now with the periscope, he could see the deck !

The submarine span around......and towards the shore they were bound !

Very soon, they ran aground, and on the beach they were found !

The people bathing couldn't believe their eyes....

When a turtle in a Captain's hat slighted - now there's a surprise !
