Turnip the Turtle's Fishing Trip

Mock turtle soup didn't sound that appetising for tea,

So Turnip the turtle decided on fish and chips for three....

I suppose he could have chosen a beef dinner -

Or even a salmon salad that

would have made him thinner !

He also could have taken a boat...

But he didn't have a Mackintosh hat and coat....

As an expert fisherman, naturally,

Turnip went out for a dip in the sea....

There he caught an enormous fish,

Which he deep - fried but wouldn't fit his dish !

.....A cod, a mackerel and a sturgeon....

A few little sprats that couldn't be seen by even a surgeon !

There was also a clam or two....

A starfish, some prawns and some shells - quite a few !

Turnip the turtle put them all in the pot....

Boiled them with an onion and ate the lot !
