Turnip the Turtle and the Pair of Binoculars

One day, when Turnip was fishing for kippers,

He accidentally lost one of his flippers !

Although he looked along the shore,

It wasn't to be seen - and it had gone half past four !

He looked in the sand, beneath the pier,

But it seemed it had completely disappeared !

He'd have to buy another,

Or ask for a present from his brother !

Anyway, he looked awfully silly in the other !

He wondered where his flipper could have gone...

The sand was hot in the afternoon Sun

Perhaps he'd lost it by the bay,

Or it may have even floated away !

It could have been put in a litter bin,

He tried to look but he fell in !

Thrown away with the garbage and left over fish and chips,

Or hooked on the anchor of one of the passing ships

Perhaps it was fished on a fishing line,

Along with a trout, so shiny and fine !

As he sipped on ginger beer,

Turnip the Turtle had an idea

The solution he devised left him quite surprised....

He bought a pair of Binoculars and very soon the problem was demised !

He spotted his flipper on a buoy,

Bobbing in the sea,

He cried "Ships ahoy !"

Turtle asked a man on a surfboard to retrieve it....

At last he'd found his flipper ? He simply couldn't believe it !
