Turnip the Turtle and the Footprints in the Sand

Turnip the Turtle was one of life's day trip - pers

He often went out and about - even without his flippers !

One day, when sunbathing was all he had planned....

He followed a trail of footprints in the sand ....

Through the sand dunes and over the hill,

One by one he tip toed ( and is still doing still !)

Somewhere beneath the cliff behind a rock,

Turnip the Turtle got a terrible shock !

There he spied a dinosaur egg,

In a pile of bones (which he presumed was its leg !)....

Suddenly the ground started to rumble....

The egg wobbled and started to mumble ....

A crack appeared in the side....

But it wasn't scrambled egg that was supplied ... as it opened wide ....

The egg broke out

Aarrrggggghhhh !, Turnip gave a shout....

Well you would too if you saw a Dinosaur, no doubt !

The dinosaur was a friendly fellow -

Green and brown with spots that were yellow....

Together the pair of them shook hands and said "HELLO !" ...

Being a million years old, Dino was hungry by now,

I guess it's by eating that dinosaurs grow and grow !

They tucked into picnic sandwiches ... cheese and ham,

Then ate 3 doughnuts each ... in the middle there was jam !

Then Turnip the Turtle couldn't believe his eyes,

Dino the dinosaur doubled in size !

Before long he was ten feet long,

With teeth that glistened, white and strong !

Being such a height, gave Turnip quite a fright,

He eclipsed the Sun, so there was no light !

And all around appeared like night !

By the light of the Moon, they sang a tune,

Turnip head back into the water ....

And Dino said "Come back soon !"
