Santa was broke...
He didn't have a penny...
He'd spent all his savings on gifts....there were so many...
He still wanted Christmas to be grand,
So he popped down to the Christmastown poundland...
He took his sleigh....knew just where to park it...
He picked up a basket in the market...
He didn't know where to begin...he started to put toys and gifts in...
All around...goodies he found...
Everything only cost a pound !
Then on he plodded...up and down the aisle...
In a while, he had hundreds of things with style....
He put them on his sleigh in a pile...
Some Christmas decorations and fairy lights...
A torch so he could see at night...
A ladder so he could reach a height !
Fairy wings for her maiden flight !
A pack of pencils...and a rule...
A book for the snowman to take to school...
A pair of scissors and a map...
In case Santa got lost South of Watford gap !
Some more shampoo for his new hairdo...
A toy set of animals at the zoo...
There was even a bottle of sherry, too !
A selection of cards....Santa bought a few....
A Poundland Christmas was a delight...
Especially if the pennies are tight !
