The Magic Paintbrush

The magic paintbrush was so magic that it splashed here and splashed there, painting everything everywhere. It was so magic that it could change the colour of the sky from grey back to blue ... it painted everything else in every kind of hue ... so magic that it turned the day into night and made the stars shine even more bright. By now, the magic paintbrush was getting quite busy ... it didn't stop after decorating the house, it moved into the garden. The magic paintbrush painted pink carnations pink - and violets violet. It made the bluebirds blue, the greenfinches green and the yellow hammers yellow. The magic paintbrush was so magic that it splashed raindrops over the clouds and some of the raindrops dribbled down into the puddles on the ground. The magic paintbrush was so magic that it painted the grass green, except during harvest time when it decided to redecorate ... and painted the hay yellow. The magic paintbrush liked red best - so it gave that colour to the buses and post - boxes, poppies in the fields and ladybirds. When it changed it's mind, the magic paintbrush changed them to orange ... then wrote the numbers on the front in white. The magic paintbrush was so magic that it could paint a clown's face so that the smile seemed happier, it's cheeks blushed more ... and the magic paintbrush made the clown's dickie - bow tie much more colourful. The magic paintbrush was so magic that it changed the colour of the rug every day ... and brought a new shade to the curtains whenever it splashed. The magic paintbrush painted the yolks of the eggs in the fridge yellow and the milk, white. After the magic paintbrush splashed about in the fruit bowl, the oranges were more orange, the apples greener, the strawberries redder and the lemons more lemon. The magic paintbrush was so magic that it put the red in red tomatoes and the fresh green in fresh greens. Magic.
