The Hungry Housefly's Jungle Jaunt

The hungry housefly decided to go,
Off on safari, far away from the snow…
He flew out of Heathrow, at half past eight,
Zoomed over France, didn’t want to be late…
As the weather became much hotter,
The hungry housefly started to totter…
He hadn’t eaten for over an hour,
So a flower, he started to devour…
On the pyramids, he stopped off for a snack,
Flying all the way to Africa and back…
In the desert breeze, he ate palm trees,
Dining in the shining Sun, it was thirty - three degrees…
Soon, he was feasting on a giraffe,
Drinking Spring water from a lotus carafe…
Through the bushes, spied a baboon,
The fly munched, humming his favourite tune…
He tucked into a large green leaf,
The housefly was hungrier than belief !
He lunched away on a grape or two,
A lion waltzed in…then a hungry gnu…
Around the hungry housefly, buzzed fireflies,
Five hundred metres above the ground, high in blue skies…
Bigger and bigger, the housefly got chunky,
Swinging through the trees with a monkey !...
He perched on the back of a hungry cheetah,
Narrowly missing the jaws of an ant-eater…
The hungry housefly took another bite,
Nothing could quell his housefly appetite…
As into the clearing, Ozzy the mozzy did tumble,
Over the jungle’s noise, you could hear his belly rumble…
The hungry housefly chomped away till he weighed a ton,
Loving his jungle jaunt, in the heat of the Midday Sun…
The hungry housefly sat on a rock,
By a lagoon, the got a big shock !...
As he groaned from belly ache,
On the jungle floor, in hissed a snake…
Up he dashed as quick as a flash,
Then into a tree, the housefly did crash !
On jungle winds, off he flew,
Back home again to England, into the blue….
