The Hungry Firefly Who Was Always Getting Fired

The fire fly was always getting fired. He started off his career, working in a bank ... but before long, the fire fly set fire to all the bank notes ... and was given the sack. When he worked in a supermarket, as a trolley collector, he broke the wheels on one of the trolleys, so decided to become a bus inspector. He forgot all the times of the buses ... and even lost his ticket. The fire fly's next post, was working in the lost and found - the job he liked the most. Sometimes things were never claimed, so his boss said that, he could keep a hat, if it remained. By the end of the month, he had secured ... an umbrella, some gloves ... a new pair of shoes and a book to help him with the crossword clues. The fire fly worked for a while as a fireman ... but he got fired, from this job, too. In order to get by, the fire fly became a spy ... but he wasn't very good at it ... and very soon, had to rest a bit. Next, he tried his hand working in a library ... but he spent so long, reading all the books, that he didn't get home on Fridays. The fire fly's next job, was selling bread rolls in a baker's shop ... he liked working there, rather a lot ... except that the buns were often too hot. The fire fly did some training ... but he had to go home because it was raining. The only thing he ever wanted to do, was to be an acrobat in the zoo. The fire fly missed the trapeze ... and couldn't find a seat with ease. The circus master thought he was really quite hopeless ... and sent him to the opticians to get a pair of spectacles to help him focus. To pay the rent, he fixed the circus tent. He had to lend a pair of step ladders from the elephant. The fire fly got fired from his next job, as well, working as a painter and decorator ... because he couldn't paint that well. When he went to stick the paper with glue, he became so sticky that he stuck the paintbrush, too. When his boss told him to stick it ... he kicked over a bucket. No wonder he never had any cash at all ... he'd stuck it with glue to the kitchen wall. The fire fly got fired again, working as a secretary, to the Prime Minister at Number Ten. The fire fly was always late, usually because he'd set the wrong date or couldn't find the gate. At his interview, he thought he'd answered the questions alright ... but it was easy to see he was just wasn't that bright.
