The hungry badger's belly rumbled, he went walking in the woods, slipped and tumbled. That is how he got his stripes, and why his fur is not all white. He loved to snoot and snout about, looking for beetles, though he sometimes found nowt. No wonder the badger was a hungry chap, the only thing he found in the wood was mushrooms, toadstools and stuff ... and that wasn't enough ! The hungry badger went to town ... where he found one or two badges looking around. He gobbled them all - in one big bite - luckily there were stacks to quench his hungry badger appetite. The hungry badger licked his lips - the tastiest badge was on the top shelf (but it was worth the trip !). The hungry badger wagged his tail ... looking for badges, he hoped he'd not fail.

1. The hungry badger found 500 insects - beetles, fleas and frogs in a ratio of 3 : 5 : 7. How many of each did he find ?

2. Then he ate 20 % - how many were left ?

3. The hungry badger found 0.8 of the 200 slugs he ate underneath a tree trunk. How many is that ?

4. He took a rest on a log and squashed 4 of the 12 mushrooms growing there - what fraction is that ?

5. The hungry badger found 150 badges - 15 % of them were militray badges - what percentage and how many were other types of badges ?

6. If the hungry badger had 300 badges and the pin was broken on 1 : 3, how many is that ?
