One day, Kevin the kangeroo was bouncing along,
When he heard something loudly go "BONG !"....
He looked down, upon the pavement,
It was a once shiny ring, now, jagged and bent...
Next, he saw something fallen beside it,
It was catapult, though he'd tried to hide it !
....A handkerchief - this was beyond belief !
There must have been a hole in his pocket - Blimey ! Good grief !
A dozen marbles, one after the other,
Even a baseball cap, belonging to his brother !"
They dropped out, one by one
Rolled into the gutter, then down the drain they were gone...
A fishing hook, a needle and thread,
Even a teddy that landed on it's head !
Oh my word ! A clang he heard,
It was a penny, picked up by a bird !
The bird flew quickly away into the blue...
Now what was Kevin the kangeroo to do ?
He didn't have any money for the bus,
Not even a spare ticket from one of us...
He decided to jump on home,
(Before, he lost another comb !)
He leapt over the garden gate,
Hoped his problem hadn't made him late !
He lost a shoe on the step too,
Luckily, he had another pair - not bad for a kangeroo !
