The Computer Mouse Who Had No House

The computer mouse had no house,

Nowhere to live for him and his spouse...

Nowhere for him to rest his head,

Or tuck his ears into a nice warm bed...

Nowhere for him to clean his whiskers....

Nowhere for him to cook dinner at Christmas

Perhaps he should rent ? Or put up a tent ? Anyway, this month his wages were all spent !

He tried a lillypad in the pond...

But everyone said thats where a frog should belong !

He stayed overnight in a hotel...

Even tried the garden shed as well !

Perhaps a shoebox in which to keep his socks ?

Or a cupboard or even one of the

clocks ?!

A little bit of cheese....though it made him sneeze...

Was all the computer mouse asked for please...

And even a kennel alongside the dog -

Or wrapped up in a blanket in a pen with the hog !

In the bathroom....or on the towel rail....

Would maybe be a good place to stay, without fail !

In the kitchen, in a basket with the cat ?

Perched on the doorstep or sat on the mat ?

By the fireside...or bookcase with the books...

Or in the kitchen with one of the cooks !

The computer mouse decided finally...

That besides a computer's the best place for a mouse to be...

So that is where he made his home, though small...

No-one bothered with him much at all !

Other than the odd click or two...

He was happier than a zebra in the zoo !
