The Computer Mouse's Spectacles

After years looking at a dusty computer screen...

The computer mouse's glasses were the dirtiest ever seen !

He screwed up his eyes 'cos he simply couldn't see...

Whether the kettle was boiling and if the coffee was tea ?

"That's no good, at all, it simply won't do !", said the office cleaner, when she came at two...

She set about with polish and a duster...

With as much energy as she could muster - which got the computer mouse in a bit of a fluster !!!

She vacuumed the floor and cleaned the windows till they shone...

Including the computer mouse's spectacles till every bit of grease had gone...

Every little smear she polished away...

Until the computer mouse could once again see the light of day !

It was wonderful - a miracle had occurred...

Through the window - he could even see a bird !

Now, he could see every pixel and the on/off switch....

Before she cleaned his spectacles, he couldn't see which was which !

Through his bright, shiny spectacles, he could see what time to go home on the clock...

He even could see the bicycles on the other side of the block !

When darkness came and it was time to sleep...

The computer mouse stared at the stars (instead of counting sheep !)

Before saying goodnight, he made a wish one Summer's night -

For someone taller to switch off the light !
