The Computer Mouse and the Mousetrap

One day, the computer mouse woke up from his nap....

When suddenly he heard a very loud "SNAP !"

He'd been sleepwalking across the office floor...

With his eyes shut, heading towards the door...

He'd bumped into the table and chairs,

Tripped and fell down the office stairs...

In the commotion, the computer mouse's tail....

Had got trapped in a mousetrap - no wonder he started to wail !

Although he pulled and tugged with all his might...

The computer mouse was completely caught tight !

He wriggled and jiggled and wiggled about...

"Somebody come and get me out !"

The smell of cheese in the mousetrap...

Got the computer mouse in rather a flap

His mouth watered and he flashed his light...

But it was no use - nobody cared about his plight !

That is, until the office cat...

Came sleeking by and saw where he was sat !

The pussy cat's sharp claws came in quite useful, indeed !

When the computer mouse needed to be freed....

Of course it was only because the greedy cat

- wanted to feed and feast on the rat !

The computer mouse seeing his teeth...

Sped off quickly back to the mousepad and hid beneath !

He peeped out his nose, shivering and scared...

He wanted to nibble the cheese, but it was midnight before he dared...

In the dark he couldn't find the light switch !

So he found the cheese with his whiskers - which he started to twitch !

Before long, the computer mouse was tucking in...

Leaving only crumbs for the cat in the bin !
