The Cleaner's Smashing Day

One morning, the office cleaner was in a bad mood,

She hated getting up early and the bus conductor had been rude !

She had been late ! It was gone half past eight...

She started by cleaning the dishes - then she dropped a plate !

The cleaner usually sang as she got busy...

But she was so clumsy today, it made the computer mouse dizzy !

When she polished the window, the blind fell off...

The clouds of dust had made her cough!

She vacuumed the floor and tidied the shelves....

But the books all fell off almost by themselves !

The stack of papers on the desk....

Made the place really look a mess...

There were three pieces missing from the game of chess !

She washed the pots in the sink...

Sprayed some air freshener, 'cos there was a bit of a stink ....

As she stepped back, she tripped over the cat !

Her high heel trod on the computer mouse with a very loud SPLAT !!!

Ouch ! He cried out electronically...

As three screws were suddenly set free

A spare cog rolled across the floor...

Two bolts headed beneath the door

The broken light no longer flashed...

The battery had come out when her size nine had crashed

The cleaner tried to pick up the pieces...

And apologised for what she had done...

To stick the computer mouse back together ....was going to be a challenge for everyone !

The stapler and the photocopier brought staples and sellotape...

But it simply wouldn't do - even with glue - they really were in a scrape !

No wonder then, as the cleaner on the spot got fired...

The computer mouse put his feet up ... and finally retired !
