The Christmas When Santa Got His White Beard Trimmed

One year, Santa's beard had grown long. It wasn't curly like it used to be and Santa dripped on it, when he drank his tea. Santa called in at the hairdresser's to make an appointment for a trim - he really did want another colour and he thought that it no longer suited him. The hairdresser ummed and arghed for a while, then showed him to some magazines so he could pick a new style. Whilst his mince pies were in the oven cooking, Santa decided what could make him more good - looking ! A perm, perhaps, is what he needed, or even a wash and blow, in the parts that receded. Once Santa had decided what would make him look great, the hairdresser chose the right shampoo - and asked him to wait. She scrubbed and rubbed with all her might, so that Santa's beard was once more white. Then, the hairdresser gave his beard a snip - making Santa look more hip. She asked the gnome to pass a comb and brushed out all the knots. Then the hairdresser picked out one of the hair dyes from the new range that she'd got. Santa's hair was so very hairy, she needed some help from the Christmas fairy. A warm blow made the bits melt that had iced in the snow. As they brushed some more, some of Santa's locks fell onto the floor. With a coat of gel, to make Santa's beard shine, eventually, when he checked in the mirror, his beard looked quite fine.
