The Christmas that the Robin Perched on Paul's House

One Christmas, over Paul's house, the robin redbreast flew....
He was slightly off course, of course...
As the wind strongly blew !
Though he flapped his wings, as hard as he could...
He didn't fly as straight as a Christmas robin should !
As quick as a flash, the robin did dash,
He landed on his head with a considerable BASH !
He actually crash-landed in the wood...
His wing was broken, his beak, no good!
Paul heard all the commotion and the noise,
Expecting Santa with a sackful of toys !
He called for Santa and the Christmas fairy,
To come rescue the bird and do something extra - ordinary!
Without the robin, to tell Santa he'd been a good chap...
Paul was getting in a bit of a flap !
He wouldn't get any presents, he feared somewhat,
That this year he wouldn't get an awful lot !
The fairy came and waved her wand,
On the robin and where he'd come to land...
It was a miraculous trick that the fairy performed,
Although the wind blew fiercely and the weather still stormed !
The robin hopped off,
Whilst he stopped off,
Santa a sackful of goodies dropped off !
In no time at all, the robin was flying around...
Tweeting merrily a hundred metres off the ground !
All in all, the day with Paul,
Was the best Christmas ever that Santa did recall !
