Mrs Christmas was complaining....her paintwork had chipped while it was raining...

She asked Gerome to paint her home...

But he was off in to the garden to roam...

In the garden shed, she asked the robin instead,

To sand down the windows and bring a paint tin...in red...

The robin said he didn't have the time...

And anyway they were all covered in grime....

With Christmas coming, of course santa was busy,

All of the grotto was in a dizzy old tizzy...

So the Christmas fairy said, call a painter and decorator instead...off she sped as the cat turned on its head ...

The painter and decorator wore dungarees...with patchworks on his worn out knees...

He arrived in a van with an old handyman named Stan,

They set about devising a grand grotto plan...

First the kitchen, then the dining room...

In the lounge the elf brought a broom...

They painted the old fireplace so well...

Santa ended up with splashes on his face as well !!!

Then pasted the paper with sticky new glue...

Mrs Christmas had chosen a deep shade of blue !

They trimmed and cut everything such a lot...

They strimmed Santa's beard right on the spot !

The parrot ended.up without a tail...

They left dots of paint in a spotty old trail...all along the bannister rail...as well as three letters posted by Royal Mail...

But by the 24th....after decorating for all they were worth...th grotto looked marvellous from where santa was circling the Earth !!!
