The Christmas that Santa Got Held - Up at Helen's House

At Helen's house, Santa left each gift,

At the bottom of the stairlift ...

It had been a busy Christmas shift....

Till Santa got stuck in a snowdrift !

He tried to open up the door ...

But the snow was 3 inches deep on the floor !

His sleigh got stuck in the mud -

And wouldn't go as fast as it should !

No wonder at Helen's house, Santa was late...

So for two days, Christmas had to wait...

Luckily some mince pies were left on a plate,

Which Santa ate before off he did skate !

The glass of port left by Helen warmed him up,

As well as the mulled wine left in a cup !

Eventually, he fell fast asleep,

Thinking of presents and counting sheep !

His loud snores awoke Gerome the gnome,

As the windows shook around their grotto home !

The gnome jumped up and Santa shook,

Getting stuck had actually been a bit of good luck !

Sat on the sofa, all soft and cosy,

In front of the fire, with his nose going rosy !

Santa had never had such a lazy Christmas eve,

Having so much fun, he didn't want to leave !
