The Christmas that Santa Fell Asleep on his New DFS Sofa

The Christmas that Santa fell asleep, he had trouble keeping his eyes open at all....

He'd been working hard all year, all Fall....so was exhausted when the Robin came to call !

The new DFS sofa in their new grotto home, was carried in carefully by Santa and Gerome...

Quite a feat for a busy little gnome....Down the back of the old one, they'd found a comb...

I'll put my feet up a minute or two, Santa replied,

It was a hundred and one degrees outside....

But it was warm by the fireside inside !

He always had a snooze at this time of day,

The cushions were so soft, he was soon dreaming away....

Mrs Christmas went to check on the mince pies,

When she came back, she couldn't believe her eyes !

He was snoring so very deep,

She couldn't wake him up....he was so fast asleep....

"Come on Santa, get our work done outside !"

"It's already half past one!" she cried...

But even the cat was snoring by his side, in the corner of her eye she spied !

The roof shook, the door rumbled,

As Santa snored and his belly grumbled...

From the top of the Christmas tree the star almost tumbled...

And in the kitchen three mince pies crumbled...

Mrs Christmas got the gong....she didn't want Christmas to go completely wrong !

When Santa awoke, the choir gave a song....and Christmas was back on track, before very long !
