The Christmas that Santa Caught a Falling Star

One Christmas Santa went out to catch a trout....

But when his fishing rod was swinging about...

I bet you cannot guess what he caught, no doubt ?

Yes, a falling star from the Milky way,

That narrowly missed Santa's sleigh...

The hook on the end of the fishing line...

Got snagged upon the Christmas pine...

(Perhaps Santa had been drinking too much wine !!!)...but he was stuck until half past nine !

As Santa undid the tied up knot...

It struck Rudolph on the nose a lot !

You wouldn't believe the bruise he got...

And a brighter red nose - all shiny and hot !

Next the fishing hook...scooped up Santa's road map book...

And three mince pies (which was a bit of luck !)

Off.Santa went and gave another

chuck !!!

Soon on the Moon...Santa was swinging...

Onto the fishing line, he was tightly clinging !

Even a meteorite...the fishing rod by now was quite a sight !

(It seemed to catch everything in flight that night !)

A dozen more stars...some boulders from Mars...

And off a motorway one or two cars !

Luckily as Santa drove the sleigh back down...

The things he'd collected scattered all over Christmastown...

On the grotto aerial for the TV...

Santa fished a rooftile clumsily...

Even the drainpipe suddenly became free...

"WATCH OUT SANTA !!" Mrs Christmas cried angrily...

Mrs Christmas's patience was getting frayed...

As the next morning, they inspected the damage....to see what a mess Santa had made...

Luckily a van passed by with a sign displayed...

"**** Builders - that's my trade !"

The handyman gave them a reasonable quote...did the job and a bill then wrote...

Golly gosh ! The grotto looked posh...

Other than the sleigh (which needed a wash !)
