Stephen put the stockings by the fireplace on Christmas Eve,
Waiting to see what Santa would leave....
When Santa arrived by the hearth,
Full of Christmas cheer and warmth...
He settled down on the soft settee,
Tucking into the mince pies left by Stephen for his tea...
The living room was warm and cosy,
Santa warmed his feet and his nose was soon rosy !
Before long, Santa was fast asleep,
Dreaming about Christmas dinner his slumber was so deep !
On Santa's lap, purred the cat,
Who also slept, as Santa sat....
Soon the grandfather clock chimed half past four,
Santa jumped up and head off through the door !
He was late - the presents couldn't wait!
He'd have to get some help from Gerome, his mate !
To the rescue, came the Christmas fairy....
Who did something quite extra - ordinairy...
She waved her wand and magically,
The gifts scattered far and wide across every sea !
The Christmas fairy had saved the day,
Because she was magic in her own special way !
They celebrated with a glass of sherry,
Just like every Christmas, the elves soon got merry !
