The Christmas that Santa Came Last at Donnington Races

Mrs Christmas bought Santa a voucher one year - for a Donnington VIP hospitality package....

What a brilliant idea !

They all turned up early with their paddock pass,

Bought a bottle of champagne - really first class !

Santa settled down in the grandstand, eating a burger bun....

The gnomes were having incredible

Fun !

Today's event was the World's Superbike...the ultimate holiday !

The race started, they were off - a speedy getaway !

At the starting line, they all were on time...

They set off quickly as the clock chimed nine !

Around the bend, Santa's sleigh joined the race...

Leaving a trail of smoke blowing all over the place !

Because Rudolph was not that fit,

He was last, lagging behind a little bit !

The chequered flag waved, urging him to stop off....

But without his glasses Santa couldn't see a thing and the sleigh, he dropped off !

He crashed into the circuit fence...

Rudolph's rosy nose was no co-incidence !

When the final whistle blew, it was clear,

Although he hadn't won the British championship,

As always, Santa had brought Christmas cheer !

He kept the ticket as a souvenir...promised to come back to Donnington this time next year !

On the finishing line...

Santa celebrated with a glass of mulled wine ! Christmas vouchers for Donnington are really quite fine !
