The Christmas that Mark was Bit by a Shark

Grandma bought Mark for Christmas this year, a brand new bathing suit....it wasn't that dear !

Because Winter is so chilly...that may seem quite silly...

But he wanted to go swimming with gnomes Willy and Billy...

They lived by the icy sea,

And loved an early morning dip....

Every morning off to the beach they all did skip...

Mark tried the new suit on...size very small...

It only just covered him...though he wasn't that tall !

The stripes across in blue and white,

Clung to his chest and squeezed quite tight !

It was therefore, no surprise,

When his stomach bulged - too many French fries !

The minute Mark finished school,

He dipped a toe into the cool pool...

It was freezing, so he quickly jumped out !

A minus 100 degrees...was not for messing about !

His knees knocked, his jaws locked...

He jumped into a boat that was on the quayside docked !

Mark tripped, his foot slipped,

Into the freezing water he dipped !

Much worse, such was the force,

He made a big hole - it was his size 12 boot of course !

Splash ! His foot got stuck...

Everyone on the beach came to have a look !

In a tug of war, they tried to pull Mark out of the hole,

But the water freezes quickly out in the North Pole...

Two eskimoes were passing by,

They also came to have a try...

They pulled so hard, Mark's boot flew off..."Man overboard !" the gnomes did scoff....

Just then as Mark feared, a ferocious shark suddenly appeared...

That tugged on his new costume (and Santa's beard !)

The shark snapped...his teeth shone bright...

He looked so scary, he gave them all a fright !
