As ever before Christmas the grotto was busy,

Santa's head was in such a spin, he was feeling dizzy !

Hammering and sawing,

Painting, pasting and guffawing...

The toys were only half way done,

When there was an accident making toy number one hundred and one....

"OUCH !!!" Gerome the gnome cried out,

Hammering in a nail - but not watching out !

The hammer went CRASH, the nail bent,

Across the floor, the toy was sent.....

Gerome the gnome fell off the chair,

He really should have taken more care...

The paintbrush slipped, the robin tripped,

Some of the paint off the table dripped !!!

The toys weren't built.....the paint was spilt,

All over Mrs Christmas's patchwork quilt.....

"Oh no !!! What to do ??!! I should be finished by half past two....

"Not to worry" Santa replied, "off to Wickes - there's one at Warrington i spied !!!"

A massive car park, to park the sleigh....

And theyre open most of the holiday....

From 8 till ten...the staff are great I think,

They sell everything, including the kitchen sink !!!"

Santa got a trolley with wheels,

He spotted loads of the Christmas deals....

A special offer on a can of paint...

He picked a new garden shed (which he thought was quaint)....

A new lampshade and a crate for the toys he'd made,

Wickes was the best Christmas way to trade....

A hammer and some nails for Gerome the gnome,

Some fairy lights to brighten his home.....

How fabulous, Santa couldn't believe the price.....a Wickes Christmas was turning out so nice....
