Usually, at Christmas, Santa's fridge was well stocked and his cupboards were completely choc - a - bloc. But the Christmas when Santa ran out of turkey, there was nothing left at all to eat. Mrs. Christmas had a long Christmas menu, but when she looked, someone had eaten all the treats. All Christmas Eve, the gnomes had had a secret munch, so, now, for Christmas Day, there was nothing left to crunch for lunch. Although Mrs. Christmas had packed the fridge full of mince pies, when she looked she got a big hungry surprise ! The snowman, too, had eaten a few - now the elves would be in a stew with the stew ! There were none of the nuts that Santa had bought, as well as none of the fish that the eskimo had caught. Santa thought perhaps he should quickly bake a cake - but he didn't have the ingredients that were needed to make it, or the time that could it possibly take to bake it. The Christmas fairy hastily prepared sandwiches on a plate, but the robin pecked a few and they didn't taste that great ! Santa telephoned the local restaurant, to see if they had a table spare. He wrote down the directions, whilst Mrs. Christmas decided what to wear. The Christmas fairy put on her best dress and Santa brought the sleigh from out of the shed. Dinner would be served at seven, Mrs. Christmas said. So together they speedily, headed off down the road, announcing their arrival when the exhaust on the sleigh explode.
