The Christmas when Santa got a box of magic tricks as a present from the Christmas fairy, was marvellous - the most magic Christmas ever ! Instead of ticking off the days on the advent calendar, one by one, Santa performed a different magic trick to help the twenty - fifth come. On the first day of Christmas, Santa opened his magic box ... and a dozen presents appeared in the stocking socks. His second trick was with a bunch of flowers ... which he magicked from the pocket of his red and white Christmas suit and put on the front door of the grotto as a decoration. On the third day of Christmas, Santa magicked a bunny rabbit to appear - of course, it had disappeared down a rabbit hole before New Year. His card trick on the fourth, was one of the best ... the gnomes put a stamp on them all and posted them off West. Santa's magic box of tricks was just like a treasure chest ! Inside were jewels and gold ... which, on the sixth, Santa magically doubled with a flick of his wand - soon, there were diamonds, rubies, emeralds and pearls on every tree in Santaland ! On the seventh day of Christmas, Santa was performing tricks for Mrs. Christmas in the kitchen as she was stitching. He meant to pull a magic handkerchief out of his top hat - instead, he pulled so hard, he promptly tickled the cat ! "How about that ?!", Santa exclaimed, as the naughty gnome, for the mischief he blamed. Santa checked the advent calendar - it was day number eight. Whilst Mrs. Christmas was busy counting her mince pies, Santa tried to increase her supplies. "Pazzam !", he waved his wand again - and two hundred mince pies flew in through the windowpane (minus two which Santa ate). On day number nine, Santa tried sawing a gnome in half - everyone in the grotto thought it was a real laugh ! He didn't really have much luck ... and you wouldn't believe the time that Santa took ! And still the gnome remained quite stuck ! On day number ten, Santa started again ... but the dove he was going to use for his magic trick flew away and hid in the garden shed, so Santa used the robin red breast instead. "Abracadabra !", the magic began to work - and the robin red breast fluttered off his perch on the pitchfork. Trick number eleven was just like day number seven ... Santa went to pull something out of his magic hat. But when he found that his magic had worked so very well, that "Shazzam !", there was nothing left, Santa, of course, was bereft. So he magicked a spell that would do just as well ... it magicked Santa a new dickie bow tie as well. Day number twelve was the best of all - some of the magic spilled onto an elf sat on the wall. What a surprise ! A little bit of growing potion, doubled the elf in size. Unfortunately, Santa had left the lid off the top of the bottle, which wasn't very wise. Soon, the elf was ten feet tall in front of his very eyes !
