1. Work out surface area of the biggest apple pie in the world if it measured 15 cm across the middle using the formula ii r x r.


2. The biggest apple pie in the world needed 15 apples for evey inch of it's thickness. If the apple pie was 3 inches deep, how many apples were needed ?


3. On every 3 square cm, there was one dollop of cream. How many dollops of cream is that ?


4. For every one dollop of cream, there was two tea - spoonfuls of jam. How many teaspoonfuls is that ?


5. The biggest apple pie in the world weighed 15 kg. If one apple weighed 50 grams, how many apples were in one pie ?


6. The biggest apple pie in the world needed 3 eggs - how many eggs were needed if there were 5 apple pies ?


7. The biggest apple pie in the world was bigger than the smallest apple pie in the world in a ratio of 9 : 1. If the smallest apple pie was 4.5 cm across the middle, how large was the biggest ?


8. If the biggest apple pie in the world was 12 times bigger than the middle apple pie and the middle pie was 24 times bigger than the smallest one, which was 3 cm across - how big was the middle and the largest apple pie ?


9. If the biggest apple pie in the world was one fifth bigger than the second largest apple pie, which was 75 cm diameter, how big was the biggest apple pie ?


10. The biggest apple pie was one eighth bigger than the second largest pie, which was 80 cm across the middle, how big was the biggest apple pie ?


Answers :

1. 3.14 x 7.5 x 7.5 = 176.625

2. 3 x 15 = 45 apples

3. 176.625 / 3 = 58.875

4. 176.625 x 2 = 353.25

5. 15 / 0.5 = 30

6. 15 7. 4.5 x 9 = 40.5

8. a) 3 x 12 = 36 cm b) 36 x 24 864 cm

9. 75 + (75 / 7) = 2.0304 cm = 77.304 cm

10. 80 + (80 / 8 = 10) = 90 cm
