At last Christmas had come to Manchester !
In the Arndale Centre it couldn't be faster...
In all the shops, there were great things to buy...
A million dresses and shirts to try...
Santa zoomed in from the sky...
On his sleigh from way up high !
He landed on the roof, like new in the snow,
From up there you could see a panoramic view don't you know...
Crowds of people all milling around...
A hundred metres below on the ground...
A large musical band, all playing a song...
A magical choir all singing along...
A Christmas tree the size of a house...
(Though from up there, it looked like a mouse !)
Santa spied a fountain squirting water...
The robin slipped but Santa caught her...
She fluttered down the chimney pot inside...
Santa followed, a considerably bigger slide !
He landed on hot coals...
Santa's suit wripped and soon had holes...
Mrs Christmas gave a smile....
Hadn't done much stitchin' for a while...
"That's no bother !" Santa said...
Let's go to the Arndale instead...
Along the aisles the sleigh slipped and skid...
That's precisely what they did...
Through the Christmas crowds they fought a lot...
Then they bought and got...
A new pair of pants...
Some stocking socks...
3 large plants...
And some building blocks !
A new polka dot shirt...
A box of chocs...
A red fur-lined skirt...
A gift box...
The Arndale Centre had it all...
That's why each Christmas, Santa came to call..!!!
