Santa, the Snowman and the Longest Piece of Tinsel Ever

Whenever Santa decorated his grotto home...

From the kitchen drawer was brought a ball of string by Gerome the gnome....

The ball of string was long and strong...

It hung up the cards on the fireplace where they belong...

Santa used the string to tie to the tree...

Different coloured baubles that glistened merrily...

A star on top so off it wouldnt drop....

He tied up the lights so they wouldn't flop...

The Christmas fairy flew in from outside...

She'd been out with Rudolph on a snowy sleigh ride...

As she opened up the door ...

The rug slipped and she skidded across the floor...

Her magic wand fell out of her hand...

Something spectacular happened quite unplanned !!!

With a sprinkle of moondust and a splatter of something glittery....

The wand made the string into something quite knittery !!!

As on the string the magic did fall,

It became the size of a house, a massive snowball....

Instead of string, the miraculous became tinsel, in a flip

That Santa took the with him on his round the world trip...

On the Christmas tree in Trafalgar square,

The tinsel got caught on the spike of the star...

As Santa zoomed over Buckingham Palace....

The tinsel unravelled as across the world he did race...

Being magic, the tinsel began to stretch...

As millions of presents, Santa began to fetch...

Across Iceland and the Gobi dessert as he flew by...

The tinsel glistened in the sky...

From the North Pole to the South Pole, despite the cold...

The ball of magic tinsel began to unfold....

By the time Santa had got in from his roam,

The tinsel had tied up everything in his grotto home !!!

The kettle to the oven hob...the Christmas stocking to the door knob !

The cat to the mat...the rat to the hat...everything was tied up in tinsel like that !!!

Out in the garden the snowman was delighted...

He used the tinsel to skip...though he was quite short - sighted !!!
