This Christmas, for a little while,
Poor old Santa had forgotten how to smile...
Should have known to be more wary but...
He'd eaten a sweet from the Christmas fairy....
A stab of pain shot up his jaw...
Out popped a tooth upon the kitchen floor...
The snowman almost trod on it...
In its place, nothing would fit....
The robin tried to pick it up and look,
So from the fairy he'd make a fast buck...
Gerome the gnome had a better idea...
But Santa had a head sorer than a bear...
Mrs Christmas brought him a pill...
For the pain to stop him getting ill...
He swallowed it down with a glass of water...
Thanked his wife and his daughter...
In rushed Rudolph to see what was the matter...
Kicked it beneath a chair...it hit the table with a clatter !
The tooth rolled down the stairs...and out of the door...
Into the garden and rolled on some more...
The broken tooth sat under the Christmas tree buried for another year...
The following Christmas, instead of pine cones, there grew false teeth, I hear !
Santa went to the dentist to get the matter fixed...
The Doctor asked if the fairy had been up to her usual tricks ?!
No more sweet things, was his advice...
No humbugs, no chocolate, no sugar mice !
