Santa loved a camping trip,
Off to Devon he did skip...
When Christmas was done and all the presents were gone.....
Santa went on holiday with everyone....
Mrs C had been baking scones -
She packed a dozen and jam in tons....
They decided to picnic at the top of a cliff -
Watching the waves was Heavenly after a busy Christmas shift....
In a cafe, they settled in front of the fire,
About the menu, they started to enquire....
They ordered a pot of tea for two,
And a cream scone for me and you...
What made Santa's holiday so delightful
Was watching the gulls, though they were quite frightful ! They pecked up the crumbs from off the floor ...Santa decided to order at least two more !
Whether jam underneath, or on top...
Santa's munching didn't stop !
Another teacake - toasted with butter...."Bring me some quiche, as well", he did mutter !
They left a tip when they paid the bill...
Carried on their exciting trip - down an Exmoor hill....
Through Exmoor, they headed East...
Hoping not to meet the beast !
They heard a roar loud in the night...
A purring sound that gave them a fright!
They hid behind a very large rock...
Hoping the smell of cream scones wouldn't make them flock....along the ponies, who also loved scones...mince pies, strawberry tarts and sticky buns !
