One Christmas night, Santa got a real fright...
When on Bodmin Moor, he did alight !
His sleigh slowed down to five miles per hour,
He couldn't tell what had happened to Rudolph - superpower....
A few presents were left in the sack,
So Gerome the gnome lay down for a nap in the back...
Santa went to find a telephone...
But in the dark, was all alone...
Before long, he was lost on the Moor...
And very soon he heard a menacing ROAR !
It couldn't be his belly rumbling...
Or even a falling meteorite tumbling !
No - the noise, he was sure - was the beast of Bodmin Moor ! His ears ached, his knees quaked....he left a trail of mince pies Mrs C had baked...
In the hope that he could distract,
The beast of Bodmin Moor, in fact...
But the beast was having none of it -
On Santa's sleigh, he came to sit !
As the beast of Bodmin came into camp...Santa ran off into the swamp !
His Wellington squealched, Rudolph belched...
"SOMEONE GET US OUT OF HERE !!!", the robin redbreast yelped !
It was Gerome the gnome who saved the day,
By scaring the ugly beast away...
Thank Heavens that the brave, little chap...jumped up out of Santa's sack...then led them all back to the track !
