Pierre the frog's biggest ever birthday wish....

Was a dozen tasty flies laid out on a dish...

.....A lazy afternoon by the side of the pond.....friends coming from all over - from the river and beyond

When it turned dark, across the park,

The fireflies quickly got to work...

To make Pierre's dream come true....

A dozen bluebottles in quickly flew....

Soon, around the pond was buzzing....

As the flies were dancing about, jiving and whizzing....

A little bit of magic....and the odd trick....

Soon meant all were partying quick !

Pierre the frog was absolutely delighted.....as the fireworks lit up and the fireflies ignited

What could be better for a birthday

treat ? Than piled up locusts to heat and then eat ?

With a little bit of salt and pepper on top....

Tastier than a grilled pork chop !

Pierre the frog tucked in hungrily.....

To the tasty flies prepared for his tea....

His insatiable appetite for fly pies

For a frog was really no surprise...

He sat in the bog...on a very large log...

And on another dozen did greedily hog !
