Octavia the Opera Singing Octopus looked all October long.....
She'd lost her beach ball and didn't much feel like song....
She looked in the cave,
At the end of the beach....
She tried to climb the cliff but it was too out of reach !
She looked in the boats around the docks,
She looked in the barges by the canal locks
She looked in the castle at the top of the hill....
The last I heard, she was searching still...
Still no beach ball - perhaps it had burst?
Should she try in the rockpool, before the weather got any worst !?
There, as she looked down,
She could see the ice cream van heading back into town !
Beneath the engine, between the wheels - there it was !
.... Octavia let out one of her squeals !
Thinking it was a policeman's whistle....
The ice cream man slammed on the brakes....
So all of the ice creams were turned to milkshakes !
It didn't seem to matter
....Octavia still made a clatter
She drank milkshakes for a week...
And loudly let out another squeak !
The only time you didn't hear a peep,
Was when Octavi fell to sleep...
Dreaming of being in the spotlight and counting musical sheep...
