Lucy the ladybird had so very little luck ....
Everything she did always came un - stuck !
If the day on the calendar read December....
She accidentally turned to the page that said September !
She turned left - instead of right....
Left the light on so it shone bright all night !
She burned the cakes which she decided to bake....
You wouldn't believe the confusion she dail would make !
Like most ladybirds, Lucy sat on a flower .....
Unfortunately, suddenly, there was a heavy rain shower !
She liked her wings, so colourfully dotted....
Which meant that she was more easily spotted !
If Lucy bet on the horses at the races.....
Her's was the one that ended in second or third places....
One day she found a four - leaf clover.....
Unfortunately it wilted and the luck was soon over !
She even found treasure when swimming in the sea.....
But a pirate came and stole it away merrily !
As the unluckiest of all insects, Lucy the ladybird....
Fell into a pot of sticky lemon curd !
How absurd ! (or so I heard....)
She ended up last instead of first (or even third !)
Even when Santa came on Christmas day....
He lost his map and ended up next door (So they say !).
