Kevin the Kangeroo and the Snake in the Grass

Kevin as all kangeroos do...

Loves a tasty bit of grass to chew !

He often leaps down into the meadow, when his day is done

And takes with a picnic basket and a blanket to bathe in the Sun

The grass looked juicy and appetising,

But something then happened that was really surprising !

As Kevin was looking where best to begin....

He bit a snake as he started to tuck in !

The snake (who was more used to doing the eating),

Was taken aback by this greedy greeting !

I don't know who was more shocked or scared...

Or even how the snake was to be repaired !

But one thing that is certain, for sure...

Kevin jumped up 3 feet off the floor !

Luckily he missed the snake as he jumped back down...

Who hissed and snaked back into town!

The kangeroo saw the snake as he passed by,

And decided a little bit of slivering too, he'd like to try !

Although the kangeroo rolled around in the mud (as snakes do in the zoo...)

He didn't do anything but pick up some grass and the odd dead leaf or two

It was just no good....he didn't snake like he should....

He would have to stay leaping as only kangeroos could !

What happened to the snake ?, I hear you say ?

Well, he too lazed in the Sun all day...

And bit Kevin the kangeroo back, one day that May !
