"Mud ! Mud ! Glorious mud !", sang Harry the hippopotamus as he basked in the waterhole, one Summer's day, causing quite a rumpus.
The parrots also tweeted in tune...
Sat in the palm trees, that sunny June
The chimpanzees also danced along,
To the sounds of the number one hit song !
The whole jungle was bopping in time,
To the hippo's warbling in the slime !
Time for work, he had a lot to do,
But stuck in the mud, he lost one shoe !
The elephant, who was his friend,
Trumpeted as he came round the bend....
"Perhaps you can try my Wellington boots -
They're your size and I'm sure they will suit !"
Harry the hippo tried them on for size...
They were a little tight - hardly a surprise !
Given his size twelve enormous feet,
Which he started to stomp in time to the beat !
The ground shook, the mud splashed,
Into the waterhole, three flamingoes crashed !
Out of nowhere, a giraffe strolled in...
Wondering when the party would begin.
To the light of the Moon, he danced with the babboon,
The tiger cried out "Come back soon !"
