Harry the Hippo's Too Short Tail

Harry the hippo wasn't happy at all,

His tail was four inches and he was three feet tall !

Really, for a hippo, THAT is too small,

Especially when the lion and the crocodile came to call....

All the others in the jungle had no problem whatsoever....

Swimming in the waterhole, looking awfully clever !

The crocodile swished about....

Watch out for his teeth, everyone gave a shout !

The lion dragged his tail on the ground...

But not the piglet because his tail was round !

The monkey used his tail to swing upside down....

The peacock showed his tail off all over town !

A tiny mouse, well actually, there were a few...

Scurried about, tail - waggling, as mice often do

The parrot crowed...."Look at my tail !"

From where he was sat, he could see the trail left by the tail of the snail !

Even the cheetah (better known for his claws),

Liked the look of his tail when he was doing his chores !

Only the snake admired the hippopotamus....

Whose lack of a tail whatsoever caused a bit of a fuss....

"Stand in a grow bag !", was his advice....

And put a bow on it to make it look really nice !

So that's just what the hippo did...
